Handcrafted turkey calls built for the spring woods
Gobblergitter Turkey Calls creates lightweight, easy-to-use box calls for turkey hunters who value dependable sound, comfortable carry, and handmade quality. Every call is carefully measured, shaped, sanded, and protected to perform in the field.
Find the tone that brings gobblers closer
Each Gobblergitter call is built to the same precise dimensions, while the selected wood gives every model its own distinctive tone and frequency. Choose the sound that fits your hunting style and the birds you pursue.
Lightweight box calls
Carry less and call with confidence. Our compact box-style turkey calls are made to be very light, easy to operate, and simple to conceal as you work a bird into range. Every call is measured with calipers throughout the build process, so the dimensions remain consistent from call to call. That careful craftsmanship helps deliver a dependable feel in your hand. The wood is where the personality comes in. By changing the wood type while maintaining the same build dimensions, Gobblergitter calls produce different tones and frequencies that turkeys can hear and respond to. Each call is hand-sanded with 220-grit sandpaper for a smooth finish, then sealed with two coats of spar urethane to help protect the wood from outdoor elements during turkey season.
As you can see, my call boxes are quite small: just under 6 inches. Don't let the size fool you. They have wonderful tone and can reach out with good volume. Sometimes when I go looking for wood scraps at different cabinet makers near me it's like opening a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get. In that respect, I usually do not have too many of certain types. To view our calls, click on the button below
Crafting information
All calls are assembled with the best quality wood glue available and are pinned with brass escutcheon pins (a fun way to say nail). They are then pressed overnight to cure the glue set. Finishing touches are hand sanded to proper dimensions, then coded in spar urethane - both the box and the paddle.
“A well-made turkey call should feel natural in your hand, sound right in the woods, and be ready when the moment matters. That is the standard behind every Gobblergitter call.”
All my calls have this type of information on the bottom of the call signifying the different woods used to create the strike plates. All calls have a Cedar Heart wood paddle which creates a great cackle affect and soft purrs. Although I am a little old and shake somewhat, I sign each and every call as best I can.
The mount you see in these pictures was made by me after getting my first gobbler in 2007.
